| PJB Phil Jones BG-150 Flightcase bass amp
When I tried this out recently I knew that we simply HAD to stock it. This tiny combo re-defines QUALITY. If you need bags of volume and downtuned to hell then look elsewhere, but if you have a really decent bass guitar and want to hear it at it's best at reasonable volume then this is THE BEST BASS AMP you can buy... in my opinion. It's also VERY lightweight and that is a big plus too. I imagine that this would suit jazz and blues trios, function bands or anyone who plays quality music at reasonable and not ear bleeding volumes. You can D.I out anyway if you need to but I think this is just better suited as a high quality home use amp for discerning individuals or smaller venues
Digital power amps: Digital power amps are designed to provide large amounts of power without the bulk of othertypes like mosfet amps. Unfortunately, one downside is that this type of digital power amp exhibits a low level background hiss / gargle. It's unavoidable but well within the signal to noise ratio and barely noticeable unless you have your ear pressed against the speaker. As with any bass amp it is better to have the volume on your bass guitar up full and the volume on the bass amp low or set to the volume you want. If you operate like this then you will enjoy this amp, however if you like to have your amp on full volume and then feed in the guitars volume, you will probably not 'get on' with this amp (or any digital amp to be honest).
The message here though is these bass amps are beautifully constructed, very reliable and sound wonderful.
