You can certainly get louder amps, and anyone wanting to drop A tune their 5 string bass for uber metal Slipknot covers, save your time this isn't for you. However if you want to hear what your bass actually is supposed to sound like then this is for you. Plenty of tone shaping is available but I prefer the straight up sound you get without over embellishment. Suited best to jazz and blues bassists, it will also work well with upright bass, but I will warn you again this is not the loudest amp you will buy. If you want volume go for SWR, Ampeg, Ashdown etc if you want the best tone ever then this is it. Simply put, this is a beautiful on stage monitor and you should D.I for bigger venues.
