What
we have here is... ONE single 500K Volume pot complete with one nut and
one flat washer. Suitable for many types of electric guitar such as
Epiphone, Jackson, Ibanez, ESP. Remember there are MANY types of
electric guitars (new and old) so I cannot guarantee this will fit ALL
guitars or your SPECIFIC guitar so please check the value (ie 250k or
500k) and measure the physical size before ordering to save confusion
and inconvenience.
Things to Consider:
1) The value: This one is 500K500k
pots are GENERALLY fitted to guitars that have HUMBUCKER* pickups making
this pot suitable for many many guitars. Guitars with a mixture of
humbuckers and singles will also typically use a 500k but Fender Strats and
other single coil only guitars will most likely use 250K.
*Humbucker
pickups are either 'open' (like say an Ibanez RG1550) or covered in a
chrome / nickel cover (like a Gibson Les Paul) and are basically two
single pickups joined together.
2) The size:
These are the 24mm LARGE
body style QUALITY pots not the smaller body (cheaper / Guitar Tech)
versions and features a BRASS threaded area. The hole required in the
body of the guitar need to be just over 9mm.
Take note of this measurement as certain models of guitar may require
some filing to make that hole bigger for the pot to fit through.
The TOP of this pot has a slot and a knurled edge. Your volume knob will then simply push over rather than screw on.
Also
look at the DEPTH of the pot and LENGTH of the shaft - these need to be
long enough to go through your scratchplate or guitar body. Some modern

What we have here is... ONE single Jack Socket for an electric guitar or bass. It comes with a nut and washer. That's all.
This
is the standard type of 'open chassis' jack socket you get in many
budget guitars like Squier and Epiphone. It's made in China, seems
pretty good quality for the money and we use loads of them for our in
house repairs. It takes a 6.35mm or 1/4" jack plug - the standard size
of guitar lead.
It's pretty simple. Open up your guitar. If your jack socket looks like this, it probably is.
Fitting:
There's only two connections so it's relatively easy to fit :
The
shorter 'side' connector which clearly is connected to the centre
chassis of the socket is the chassis or earth connection. The braided
part of the cable connects here.
The other tag is your 'hot' connection and that goes to the coloured wire. |
