Currently IN STOCK but due to sell out very soon.... The Marshall AFD 100 is based on the original JCM800 that was used by Slash to record the album, "Appetite for Destruction" by Guns 'n' Roses. Slash helped design and tweak the amp to make sure it is as close to the original amplifier as humanly possible

Slash loved this amp when he had it, and 'forgot' to give it back to the rental company. In fact the rental company stole the amplifier back out of the studio Slash was using some time later.

This particular amplifier has since disappeared only to be talked about in hushed voices, and some mystery has since surrounded the amplifier which produced the exquisite tones that became synonymous with one of the greatest albums, and greatest guitarists, of all time, and seemed lost forever.

Marshall and Slash have decided to limit production of the AFD100 to 2300 pieces worldwide, making it a sought after collectors item.

The AFD100 is offers inbuilt power attenuation. This technology has been developed in order to allow the output power to be modified without affecting the tone. Unlike external passive attenuators, this feature electronically modifies power amplifier parameters like HT, and feedback, working together with an auto-biasing circuitry. Providing attenuation inside the amplifier in this way enables the user to go from full 100W down to 0.1W just by turning a knob. This type of attention to attenuation guarantees not only full on Marshall tone but at any volume.

On top of this the Auto Biasing feature means that you can ensure your amp is tuned up whenever you start it. If there is aver a fault with a valve instead of having to test which one needs replacing the indictor light will illuminate showing you which valve to change.

Chris says: The cheapest giggable Made in UK (proper) Marshall amp. I've personally gigged one of these for a while and it is a great sounding LOUD and reliable amp. I played good old pub rock, blues and pop and there's a particular sweet spot you get on the dirt channel once the master is up at 7 the amp will sustain until tomorrow. At 40 watt you might think it's not loud enough but I found it to have plenty of volume for me and would recommend it to anyone.

Marshall JMD501 - the JMD-1 programmable multi voiced valve guitar amp combo with effects and MIDI

Us oldies remember the JMP-1 and in some ways it is similar, however I think this amp sounds MORE like a true guitar amp rather than just a versatile pre-amp. Probably and obviously because it IS a true valve amp.

Obviously it does the overdriven sounds extremely well but (for a change ?) a surprising amount of bottom end clean tone was to be found as well. Nice touch. It's fairly easy to use and with the minimum amount of supervision you can get some greats sounds straight out of the box. Watch out for that effects loop switch, if that's on and there's nothing in the fx loop you'll get nothing out the amp. This may seem obvious but it's a small light and could be missed (yeah - I did !)
