Gibson Historic 1958 Les Paul plain top VOS guitar +bigsby USED

Here we have an excellent condition Gibson Les Paul in sunburst (either tobacco or similar) and retro fitted with a bigsby trem. To further enhance the look and tone, the guitar also has been fitted with one Seymour Duncan pickup in the bridge. The neck pickup is a genuine Gibson BurstBucker but possibly not the original one as it has no nickel cover. The original bridge and other parts are NOT included with the guitar. The guitar does come with the original hard case.

The guitar is approximately 2 years old but with a build date of 2008 (some guitars don't get sold the moment they leave the factory) and is in 9/10 condition. There are really no signs of wear and tear at all in terms of dents and scratches or fret wear. However, have a read on and note the treatment and finishing process means that this is not meant to be a super shiny guitar by design. That's WHY it looks soooo cool.

The Bigsby works just like any Bigsby I've ever tried and does a pretty good job of keeping in tune, within reason. The pickups sound great with plenty of bite and growl. Slightly hotter maybe than standard Gibsons.

In summary it is a wickedly cool guitar with bags of attitude and retro vibe and with a street price of £2799 (RRP £3000+) for a new one this is a berty bargain. I've taken some pics below, feel free to click to enlarge. Enjoy.

In an effort to jump start the steadily declining sales of the Les Paul Model, Gibson abandoned the familiar gold finish and used a translucent, sunburst finish which showed off the figured maple tops, which were often used on Les Pauls. Body:
Three-plus decades of acoustic expertise informed the way we shaped the hollow body hybrid T5. You can hear the tonal character before you even plug it in. The T5 features a fully hollow body and an active soundboard with a compound radius. The top is a flat piece of wood braced into an arch to capture the acoustic resonance. More detail:
There's no noticeable scratches or dents anywhere on the body that I could see, although headlamp wearing CSI fans with good forensic skills will no doubt find something somewhere, but for me, even up close this looks like a new guitar. Overall I would give it a 9.9/10. There is some tarnishing of the nickel pickup covers, that happens a lot and is worth mentioning. Sound wise, exactly as you would expect, all the tone and sustain. It's been set up and plays fantastic too.
