A little more about the the Pickups:

The PRS 59/09 is the newest addition to Paul Reed Smith Guitars 1957/2008 Series line of pickups. Slightly darker and more powerful in the bridge with a touch more clarity and brightness in the neck, the 59/09 provides a tonal alternative to the industry revered original 1957/2008 pickups, known for their articulate clarity and rich harmonic overtones.

1957/2008 Series pickups utilize PRS exclusive wire and incorporate proprietary winding and magnet innovations to produce iconic sounds but with unique tonality.

Guitarists are delighted by the classic sounds of the original 1957/2008. In the new 59/09 we wanted to provide the same vibe but with additional output for those players wanting to drive the amps front end a little earlier, while providing a wider spread of tone between the neck and bridge pickup, said Paul Smith.

Here we have in stock ready to ship today one genuine USA made Gibson ES-335 guitar in sunburst gloss flametop complete with a non original hard case. From the serial number code that tells us the guitar was built in 1998. We have given the guitar a complete overhaul, set up and service. Featuring a 60's SLIM TAPER profile neck. It looks plays and sounds fantastic.

The guitar belongs to Jon a member of staff here at Guitar Mania who is basically an out and out rocker. He went through a bluesy stage briefly and acquired this guitar a few years ago but has since reverted to his rock roots and therefore has no need for this guitar.

Condition:
This is an excellent example of a lightly used guitar. It is used so therefore does have tiny scratches all over the guitar. None of them are deep and the guitar is, in our opinion, in better than average condition. The frets seem to have only the most minor signs of wear, if any, in fact the guitar feels beautifully played in.

Sound:
In use this guitar exhibits all the luscious tones you'd expect from a quality guitar like this. Rich, warm and sustain to die for.

Playability:
As mentioned earlier, this is a staff owned guitar so much like buying a guitar from your guitar teacher. A real safe, no nonsense, no issues guitar.

As the americans say "Awesome" tone ! A wicked sounding guitar amp, especially with a Fender Strat or Tele, an absolutely iconic blues amp.

This powerful 50-watt rig could easily compete with the common instrumentation of the day: horns, piano, four-piece drum kit with calfskin heads, and maybe even an electric guitar through a nice, new 10-watt amp! By the 60s and 70s, the original all-tube Tweed 4x10 Bassman was popular with rock, country and blues guitarists as a reliably great-sounding and easy-to-use guitar amp. Even some emerging British amp designers of the day copied its circuitry for use in their most celebrated designs. In the 1990s, Fender released an affordable reissue of the now-collectible 59 Bassman amplifier to massive acclaim. Many guitarists, tired of experimenting with preamps, equalizers, and effects racks, rediscovered the simple pleasure of plugging into a Fender tube amp. The Bassmans wide stage coverage, touch-sensitive dynamics and full-frequency swirl make it the perfect vehicle for building a great tone with almost any guitar or effect. The reissue Bassman continues to be a staple of the Fender guitar amp line to this day.
