Pricing
We are a UK company so our main pricing is in pound sterling (GBP). All prices include VAT at 20.0%. We reserve the right to change any advertised prices at any time without notice before you place an order. With such a large catalogue of items in our database it is inevitable that from time to time there will be errors in pricing caused either by our mistake or by errors in the data sent to us by manufacturers and publishers, or by program glitches in the software. If this means that your order would cost more than anticipated we will check with you by email before processing your order. If you have already paid we will offer you the option of canceling and receiving a refund or paying the difference. If the price increase is small, we may at our discretion decide to absorb the increase ourselves.
EURO pricing. This website features a “Currencies” option for you AS A GUIDE ONLY. We can only invoice in GB Pounds. This may vary slightly to the EURO price shown depending on the daily exchange rate, your credit card bankers exchange rate and any charges that your credit card company may charge for GBP transactions on the day that the card is charged. Our GBP prices will always be the price you are charged so it is adviseable to select GBP and contact your credit card company for an exact EURO equivalent price.

For deliveries to EU countries VAT has been included in the price so you should not have to pay any extra Sales Tax / VAT taxes when you receive your goods. For USA and countries outside of the EU we can deduct the VAT. Please contact us for a quote.

ii) used items – NO RETURNS available on used items unless specified otherwise in the Item Description.
iii) Special note for guitars on personal interpretation: We do not accept returns of guitars with personal interpretation “faults” such as low / high action, fret buzz, grain of wood, tightness or angle of a trem arm etc. We inspect, test, tune and make all appropriate adjustments before we despatch any guitar. We’re guitarists ourselves and adjust each guitar appropriately and professionaly. However, this is not a finite or conclusive area and one could discuss playability all the live long day. Opinions will vary. For example: Having a high action on an acoustic although undesirable for some players who play fast widdly music with light guage strings, maybe ideal for buskers who like to cane their guitars for maximum volume / minimum buzz. Therefore thorny issues like this do not fall into the category of being not “fit for purpose”.
iv) Special note on amplifiers (general): some guitars especially ones with single coil pickups will “buzz” or “hum” through an amp. This is normal and in fact lead to the development of hum cancelling pickup. Even guitars fitted with hum cancelling pickups (“humbuckers”) will hum through some amps in certain conditions. Most of the time this hum or buzz is a factor of the pickups, wiring or design of the guitar. Other factors that cause hum and buzz: proximity of other electronic devices like PC’s, TV’s Jukeboxes etc; faulty / cheap guitar leads, patch cables and jack sockets.
v) Special note on Valve Amps: valves are an ancient technology and are unfortunately unreliable especially on high gain amplifiers. Most valve amps break down within the 1st year, not all, but most. However, it’s usually fixed by a new set of valves. Valves are consummables and are not covered under any warranty, therefore faults arising from valve failure (which unfortunately is 99% of the faults with valve amps) are not covered under warranty. You are advised to read the instructions very carefully regarding the use of your valve amp as they need great care and attention expecially when turning on and off and transporting.
EUROPEAN DELIVERY: Please note that special circumstances may apply to the warranty / guarantee of your item. You are advised to consult the MANUFACTURER about the validity of your warranty outside of the UK. In other words you may not be able to take your guitar / amp into your local music shop for a FREE of charge warranty repair.
HOWEVER: If an item goes faulty within 12 months of purchase please return it here. We will arrange with the manufacturer for the repair to be carried out FREE of charge IF covered by the warranty but please note there will be a CHARGE FOR DELIVERY back to you.

WEEE Regulations:
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.
The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.
Much of the UKs WEEE ends up in landfill, where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.
Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill.
Distributors of new Electric and Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites.
What is Guitar Mania doing to comply to WEEE regulations ?
Guitar Mania is obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new Electrical or Electronic product from us.
For example, if a customer bought a new electric guitar from us we would accept their old electric guitar and prevent it going into a landfill site by disposing of it safely. Customers must return their WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item.
Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol.
Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.
